POSITION SUMMARY

Technical Systems Integration (TSI) seeks a Mid-Level Operations Support specialist with Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) expertise to support the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) Surface Warfare Technical Division (SWTD) in Dahlgren, VA. This critical operational support role provides 24/7 reach-back support to deployed fleet units, Combatant Commands, and Numbered Fleet Commanders, addressing IAMD operational challenges and tactical guidance requirements. The successful candidate will leverage extensive experience with the Aegis Weapon System to support real-time operational decision-making and fleet readiness across IAMD mission areas.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 12+ years of military experience and/or relevant industry/government experience with surface navy combat systems, C5I, networks, weapons systems, and IAMD planning systems
  • 5+ years of experience aboard Navy cruisers, destroyers, or within qualified Department of Defense warfare areas
  • Experience in post-weapons firing mission analysis of Aegis weapon systems

Required Certifications & Qualifications:

  • Qualified and experienced in watch stations with authority to employ Aegis Weapon System (Tactical Action Officer, Air Warfare Coordinator, or Battle Watch Captain)
  • Must possess Tactical Action Officer Qualification letter or BMD Watch Officer qualification letter

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative assessment methods supporting war-fighting readiness, capabilities, and capacity evaluations
  • Knowledge of IAMD planning systems, Aegis Weapon System operations, and ballistic missile defense procedures
  • Understanding of Operations Research methodologies and analytical techniques
  • Proficiency with fleet operations monitoring systems and casualty reporting procedures

DOMAIN KNOWLEDGE:

  • Experience supporting Combatant Command or Numbered Fleet headquarters operations
  • Understanding of crisis response procedures and operational decision-making processes
  • Knowledge of Navy tactical publication development and approval processes

COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Security Clearance: SECRET (current and active) and TS/SCI eligible
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required
  • Background Check: NCIS background check required
  • Travel Requirements: Limited travel

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work in standard office and operations center environments
  • Extended periods of computer work and real-time operational analysis
  • Ability to work extended or irregular hours, including 24/7 support requirements
  • Ability to respond rapidly to time-critical operational requirements
