HWA International School is seeking a passionate and qualified IB Geography Teacher to join our diverse and globally minded academic team. As an IB World School, we are committed to delivering excellence in international education, and we are looking for an educator who is both academically strong in Geography and aligned with the values of the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme.
This position involves teaching Geography across both the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and IB Diploma Programme (DP), with opportunities to make a significant impact on student learning and engagement.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography or a closely related field.
  • Recognized teaching qualification.
  • 2–3 years of teaching experience, ideally in an IB World School.
  • Familiarity with the IB MYP and IB DP Geography curricula.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Candidates with IB professional development training will be given priority.
Responsibilities

TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver engaging and inquiry-based Geography lessons across the IB MYP and IB DP.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and IB learner profiles.
  • Collaborate with IB Coordinators to plan curriculum units that align with IB standards and the school’s strategic goals.
  • Use assessment data to inform instructional planning and improve Geography learning outcomes.
  • Encourage students to explore global, environmental, and spatial issues through a Geography lens.

NON-TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand and adhere to all IB requirements related to internal assessments, external examinations, and reporting.
  • Participate in school activities beyond classroom teaching, such as field trips, after-school meetings, and weekend professional development.
  • Supervise students during non-classroom hours (e.g., break/lunch periods).
  • Lead or assist in co-curricular activities (CCAs), particularly those that complement Geography education.
  • Provide support with class coverage, materials management, and resource planning within the Geographydepartment.
  • Take on homeroom teacher duties if assigned.
  • Serve on school committees or workgroups that support whole-school improvement and the IB ethos.
