Role Overview Jefferies is seeking a Vice President 1 or 2 (VP1 / VP2) to join its Mergers & Acquisitions team in Paris. This role offers the opportunity to work on high‑profile cross‑border transactions across sectors including Consumer, Healthcare, Industrials, Technology, and Business Services. This individual will play a pivotal role in leading deal execution, managing junior team members, and contributing to business development efforts. This position is suited for an execution‑driven banker who thrives in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment and is keen to take on significant responsibility from day one. Key Responsibilities Deal Execution Lead day‑to‑day management of M&A transactions (buy‑side, sell‑side, public and private deals). Drive full execution workstreams: process management, financial analysis, due diligence coordination, and negotiation support. Oversee creation of key deal materials including information memoranda, management presentations, valuation materials, and investor/board materials. Act as primary liaison between clients, internal teams, legal advisors, accounting firms, and other stakeholders. Client Interaction Support senior bankers in developing and maintaining client relationships. Participate in client meetings, pitches, and strategic discussions. Provide high‑quality advisory insights and contribute to strategic idea generation. Leadership & Team Management Mentor, train, and supervise analysts and associates, ensuring high quality of work and professional development. Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture that aligns with Jefferies’ values. Business Development Contribute to the preparation of pitch materials, industry analyses, and sector insights to support new business opportunities. Assist in identifying new clients, transaction ideas, and cross‑border opportunities leveraging Jefferies’ global network. Skills & Qualifications Required 5–7 years of investment banking experience, ideally with strong exposure to M&A. Proven track record executing complex M&A transactions. Fluent French and English (written and spoken). Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills. Excellent project management abilities and attention to detail. Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to operate in a demanding, entrepreneurial environment. Preferred Experience in cross‑border European transactions. Sector expertise (e.g., Consumer, Healthcare, Industrials, TMT) is a plus. Prior experience mentoring or training junior bankers. Personal Attributes Highly motivated, proactive, and self‑driven. Strong commercial acumen and client‑focused mindset. Ability to lead and inspire junior team members. Comfortable with autonomy, ownership, and direct exposure to senior stakeholders.
