The Gastroenterology and Endoscopy department at King’s Mill Hospital is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic IBD Team Assistant to join our dynamic and busy team. We are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and are looking for a candidate who shares our commitment to excellence.
As an IBD Team Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our IBD service. Your primary responsibility will be t o be the point of contact for IBD patients service users, providing timely response to enquiries, requests, referrals and results.
You will provide high levels of patient care and ensure IBD Team satisfaction by being accessible, customer focused and a knowledgeable point of contact.
Answer and triage IBD patient telephone helpline, deal with queries within the remit of the role and ensure calls are allocated to the IBD Nurse Specialist Team within a timely manner.
Act as a point of contact for the IBD Specialist Team for primary and secondary care health professionals.
Coordination of patient prescriptions, including for homecare and healthcare services.
Assist in the monitoring of blood results for monitoring various treatment therapies used in IBD, collaboration with and/or supervision of the nurse specialist team.
Assist in coordinating patient’s hospital admission if necessary.
Assist and participate in audit and production of reports in collaboration with the team.
Organise and/or help in arranging with coordination of meetings, training and education events and produce agendas.
Log biologics tele clinics and outcome appointments. Liaising with patient pathway coordinators to arrange Consultant appointments as required.
General filing, photocopying, faxing etc., as required.
