POSITION OVERVIEW: Ignatius Book Fairs exists to support faith-filled, values-driven literacy in Catholic and mission-aligned schools.  We are seeking a detail-oriented, responsible team member who assists with the strategic planning for various book lists.  The ideal candidate is a confident communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * · Researching new books for consideration/worthiness. * · Establishing a relationship with publishers and negotiating initial terms. * · Requesting and cataloguing review copies. * · Reading/vetting books. * · Managing the work of 1-2 AMU interns who will read/vet longer books. * · Keeping a database of review copies and vetted books. * · Organizing review copies and selected books in the IBF library. * · Considering the proper balance of book selections for each age/category, Catholic/secular breakdown, and price levels among all book lists. * · Gathering necessary data and managing spreadsheets for all book lists. * · Delivering the final lists each year to the purchasing agent by the deadline (March 1st). * · Responding quickly to last minute challenges to the book list, i.e. when books are no longer in print, printing delays, shipping delays, etc. * · Work with the website manager to ensure that the books are properly categorized for the search mechanism. EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s Degree preferred EXPERIENCE:  In-depth knowledge of children’s literature  CERTIFICATION: N/A   KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES * Excellent attention to detail and process documentation * Strong interpersonal and training skills * Exceptional time management and organizational skills * Ability to work independently and collaboratively * Strong initiative and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously * Commitment to supporting the University’s Catholic mission PHYSICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Requires ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10 - 20 pounds.
