SUMMARY

We are looking for a talented and experienced ICA (Instrumentation, Control & Automation) and PLC Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the UK water industry, with a strong background in the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of ICA systems and PLC-based control panels.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as an ICA or PLC Engineer within the UK water industry (AMP projects preferred).
  • Proficient in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens S7, Allen Bradley, etc.).
  • Ability to produce Functional Design Specifications (FDS)
  • Familiar with telemetry, instrumentation, and process automation in water/wastewater treatment.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical drawings, and control schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on engineering approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement ICA and PLC systems for water treatment and distribution facilities.
  • Program and configure a range of PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, etc.) and SCADA systems.
  • Conduct fault-finding, diagnostics, and reactive maintenance on ICA systems.
  • Support installation and commissioning on-site across water utility sites.
  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams to ensure seamless integration of control systems.
  • Produce and maintain detailed documentation including I/O lists, functional design specifications (FDS), and test documentation.
  • Participate in site surveys, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Ensure work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations and company standards.
