Your Opportunity
Stantec is looking for a highly motivated ICAT consultant to join their growing, multi-disciplinary team. Responsibilities will include designing various ICAT systems based on TIA/EIA/BICSI standards & industry best practices, providing in-depth technical support for qualified Stantec opportunities and technical services delivery for Stantec clients. Key indicators of success include high levels of client satisfaction with on-site service delivery, technical support, and contractor engagement, preparing proposals, providing mentorship to an existing group of technologists and engineers and working closely with clients, contractors and suppliers.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Designs ICAT systems for the built environment, including pathway drawings, low voltage device and telecommunications outlet plan drawings, systems single line drawings and technical specifications. Technology systems include but are not limited to: Electronic Security Systems, Structured Cable Systems, Paging Systems, Wireless Systems and Data Network Systems
  • Handles design development and document preparation in written and computer-aided design formats.
  • Development and delivery of ICAT design packages for healthcare, commercial and institutional projects.
  • Knowledge in the following systems: Structured cabling (voice/data/fiber), Wi-Fi and DAS systems, Security (CCTV, access control, intrusion), EPMS (Electrical Power Monitoring System), Nurse call and RTLS. Working knowledge of ICAT services required for Building automation integration (BAS/BMS) and Audio-visual systems
  • Work collaboratively with architects, electrical/mechanical consultants, IT stakeholders, and hospital technical teams.
  • Participate in project management activities: Proposals, budgeting, scheduling, client communications, and change control.

Your Capabilities and Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, IT, or related field (P.Eng. or CET an asset).
  • 10–15 years of experience in ICAT design or consulting.
  • Experience in healthcare or hospital projects is preferred
  • Experience with BIM/Revit and AutoCAD
  • Additional certifications such as; CTS, PSP, CWS, PMP, DCDC or OSP is preferred

Required Certifications

  • RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer)

Your Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in electrical engineering required along with a minimum eight (8) years’ relevant experience related to ICT preferred.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
