EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ yrs experience in lead finance roles; CPG and related industry experience is an advantage.
  • Worked through business transformation, M&A activity or complex capability/technology implementation.
  • Strong commercial (customer development and/or procurement) & supply chain finance knowledge required.
  • Solid accounting knowledge coupled with leading edge analytical skills and SAP knowledge is a definite plus. Private company and/or PE experience is a plus.
  • Passion for finding new solutions for efficient ways of working. Will have shown ability to succeed in diverse, fast paced work environments – ideally have experience with an Agile organization, deploying the Agile methodology of working.
  • A passion for sustainability and creative ideas for how to make business a “force for good”.
  • Deep commitment to building talent and teams in an environment of diversity, inclusion and psychological safety
  • Experience within the Frozen chain consumer goods sector and centralized business models are desired
  • Responsible for coordinating activities of 2-3 finance team members on an ongoing basis.
Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

The Head of Finance will lead the Ice Cream business and the finance function through a significant change program while fulfilling all role responsibilities as the senior most finance professional dedicated to ice cream business in Canada. The candidate will steer the business on value-driving path founded on facts. The ideal person will be able to manage multiple stakeholders and initiatives parallel, while building organizational capability with a focus on value creation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This person effectively acts as the operational CFO of this unit, playing a key role on the leadership team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work with the IC leadership team to deliver results now while developing longer-term strategies
  • Driving and shaping business performance with full accountability for delivery against P&L and Cash targets. This includes, performance analysis and dynamic interventions for delivery of in-year financial targets, for the Canadian IC business.
  • Driving the pricing and trade spend management agenda, bringing and leveraging Net Revenue Management best practices and resources
  • Leverage Digital Transformation (incl. automation where possible and implementation of new I&A tools)
  • Set hurdle rates and work with team to build compelling innovation business cases at key decision gates including driving post-launch evaluations and retrospectives
  • Own the end-to-end budget process, including tracking, monitoring and intervening to deliver improved business performance in overheads
  • Provide leadership and development for the finance team, plus act as a leader for the Finance function
  • Driving ROI on all forms of investment and productivity initiatives – including supply chain and ZBB
