Description Department: Public Engagement/Marketing & Communications Schedule: As-needed, event-based Location: Various NYC-area event locations (materials picked up at ICP, 84 Ludlow Street) Status: Temporary/Non-Exempt (event-based engagement) About ICP The International Center of Photography (ICP) is the world’s leading institution dedicated to photography and visual culture. Through exhibitions, education, public programs, and community outreach, ICP provides an open forum for dialogue about the power of the image. ICP’s integrated center on the Lower East Side brings together our school and museum under one roof as a cultural anchor of Essex Crossing. Position Summary The ICP Event Ambassador represents ICP at external events, festivals, and community outreach opportunities. This role supports audience engagement by staffing ICP information tables, sharing program details, and serving as a welcoming point of contact for prospective students and community members. This is an as-needed, event-based role with flexible scheduling. Ambassadors are scheduled for specific events and engaged only for those assignments. Upcoming Event Dates We are currently seeking coverage for the following events: AIPAD — Friday, April 24 Mommy Poppin’s Spring Kid Fest — Sunday, May 3 Photobook Fest — Saturday–Sunday, May 9–10 Photoville — Saturday, May 16 Loisaida Festival — Sunday, May 24 Egg Rolls, Egg Creams, Empanadas Festival — Sunday, June 21 Please note your availability for the listed event dates in your application. Preference will be given to candidates available for multiple dates. Additional events may be added throughout the year. Requirements Key Responsibilities Pick up outreach materials from ICP prior to scheduled events Transport materials to and from event locations (travel reimbursed) Set up and break down ICP information table Engage attendees and share information about ICP programs, courses, and events Answer basic questions and direct more complex inquiries to appropriate ICP contacts Distribute promotional materials and collect contact information when applicable Maintain a professional and welcoming presence throughout the event Return all materials to ICP after event completion Provide brief recap notes following each event Qualifications ICP alumni preferred; current or former ICP staff experience a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills Comfortable speaking with the public and representing ICP Reliable and organized, with ability to manage logistics independently Able to transport materials (typically light to moderate weight) Familiarity with ICP programs preferred Compensation Flat event-based rate: Half day (up to 4 hours): $150–$200 Full day (5–8 hours): $250–$350 Travel expenses related to event participation are reimbursable in accordance with ICP policy. Compensation applies only when individuals are specifically engaged in the ICP Event Ambassador role for a scheduled event. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods during events Ability to lift and transport outreach materials (up to approximately 25 lbs) Ability to travel locally to event locations The International Center of Photography is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
