The role of an ICT Architect within Enterprise Architecture at Julius Baer builds upon extensive, long-term involvement in key strategic initiatives. In this position, you play a central role in shaping the bank’s technological landscape by providing essential tools, methodologies, and comprehensive end-to-end processes that support major transformation projects. A core responsibility involves ensuring seamless integration between new core banking systems and the existing IT infrastructure, frequently leveraging enterprise application integration solutions and modern API architectures. Beyond technical alignment, the ICT Architect is instrumental in enabling smooth, efficient operations across client servicing, back-office functions, and reporting activities - ensuring these critical processes function cohesively across departments while remaining fully aligned with the bank’s business objectives and regulatory requirements. YOUR CHALLENGE Responsibilities: Process Design & Documentation Develop clear, standardised documentation for core business processes Map end-to-end processes using methodologies such as BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies Process Improvement Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and redundancies in existing processes Apply continuous improvement methodologies Propose and implement changes to increase productivity, reduce errors, and lower costs Process Data Quality Monitoring & Analysis Manage a global process management framework to maintain process discipline over time Define and track Data Quality rules to measure process modelling quality Leverage data analysis tools to evaluate process data quality health and identify trends or root causes of issues Generate reports and dashboards for stakeholders to support decision-making Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand pain points and gather requirements Facilitate trainings, communication, and adoption of new processes Act as a liaison between Business, Enterprise Architecture, operations, IT, compliance, and senior management Technology Integration Work closely with IT system architects to assure proper integration of tools and applications Engage with Integration Architecture to assure integration points in target solutions are addressed in future solutions Compliance & Risk Mitigation Ensure processes adhere to relevant standards (e.g., ISO, SOX, GDPR) and internal controls Contribute to audits by providing evidence of process adherence and control measures Implement safeguards to minimise operational risk YOUR PROFILE Competencies: At least 10 years of experience in the area of ICT Architecture and Process Management At least 10 years of work experience in a similar capacity in the financial industry Extended experience on creating detailed process flows using standard notations (e.g., BPMN, UML, flowcharts) Demonstrable experience applying process management frameworks to improve efficiency and data quality in high accuracy Skilled in structured problem-solving techniques and root cause analysis Ability to engage with stakeholders on an international level and creating long-lasting trustful relationships Ability to manage small to medium-sized process mapping projects, including planning, execution, tracking, and stakeholder management Strong analytical capabilities is a MUST; experienced in extracting insights from operational data using tools such as Excel, Tableau, SQL, or process mining software Understanding of relevant industry regulations (e.g., MiFID II, GDPR, SOX, Basel III, DORA) and ability to design compliant processes Education & Skills: Higher Education in Computer Science (University, University of Applied Sciences or equivalent diploma) Certified as PMP or PBA (PMI) Certified in TOGAF (Enterprise Architecture) Very good German and English language skills (written and verbal) Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams across different levels of the organisation Capable of clearly explaining complex processes and recommendations to non-technical audiences Customer oriented with focus to adept at guiding teams through transitions, managing resistance, and ensuring adoption of improved processes Willingness to stay current with emerging best practices, tools, and industry trends in process engineering We are looking forward to receiving your full job application through our online application tool.
