    As ICT End User Computing Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Service Delivery team contributing to the design, development and implementation of a client technology strategy and road-map which is intrinsically linked to the organisational priorities of the OPFCC, NYP and NYFRS. You will work in a team of Service Delivery specialists to deliver a secure, robust, highly available and up to date service offering which adds real value to the delivery of front-line police and fire services; through the provision of tools and support which maximise the operational effectiveness of front line workers.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work within the scope of the client technology components of the service catalogue delivering services in line with the associated key performance indicators and following ICT processes and policies. This may include field work and out of hours working.
  • Contribute to work falling outside the service catalogue supporting projects and commissioned work as directed by the line management.
  • Support the ICT Service Manager in the delivery of an effective and customer focused client computing platform. You will be part of a team that own, maintain and improve ICT equipment that a client interacts with and uses daily to accomplish their duties.
  • Working with the ICT Support Manager the ICT End User Computing Engineer will input into a strategy that maps out how users can access the digital platforms they need to be productive, both on-premises and working remotely. The strategy will include the full range of tools necessary to complete their required tasks and consider how to enable future growth.
  • Contribute to standards that maintain the client computing services that support the clients’ life-cycle and growth opportunities.
  • Work on continuous service improvement activities based on evaluation of service performance within the constraints of a pre-set budget.
  • Through your effective management of the client computing services function, you will drive a positive and client focused culture, ensuring the inter-dependencies across all ICT colleagues are neatly aligned to exemplify ‘one ICT service’ offering to service users.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE YOU WILL:

  • Have a full UK driving Licence.
  • You will hold, or be willing to work towards CompTIA A+ orITIL Foundation Certificate in Service Management
  • Knowledge of Application packaging, SCCM and InTune (desirable)
  • Have had exposure to and some experience of networks, preferably in an emergency services organisation.
  • Have the ability to communicate in the appropriate style and language with a wide range of contacts.
  • A natural problem solver with excellent analytical skills in a highly technical customer focused service environment. You will take personal responsibility in making effective decisions within specified parameters and act on own initiative.
