Description

4-5 years of hands-on experience in server and data center operational support. Strong Linux administration skills (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu): installation, network setup, package management, user management and recovery procedures. Proficient in Microsoft Windows OS installation and administration (2008/2012/2016), patching and basic troubleshooting. Experience with VMware ESXi installation, configuration, VM creation and host upgrades. Familiarity with Nutanix is a plus. Practical experience with server hardware tasks: rack mounting, firmware/ILO management, DSET reporting for Dell. Basic SAN/NAS knowledge, storage provisioning and LUN mapping experience. Good understanding of IP addressing, subnetting, VLANs, and basic switch/router console management. Familiarity with data center infrastructure (UPS, cooling, power distribution) and monitoring PUE/CUE metrics. Strong troubleshooting skills, good written and verbal communication, ability to work independently and in a team, and readiness to work in 24x7 rotational shifts. Degree/Diploma in engineering or relevant technical discipline. Relevant certifications (RHCSA/RHCE, VMware VCP, Microsoft MCSA, Dell EMC, Cisco CCNA, etc.) are advantageous. Experience with Nutanix and hyperconverged infrastructure. Prior experience in an enterprise data center or lab operations environment. Hands-on experience with backup tools/processes and basic scripting (Bash, PowerShell) for automation. Familiarity with monitoring tools, ticketing systems and ITIL processes.
