THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re not just looking for someone to maintain the status quo. We need a strategic thinker and delivery-focused ICT Infrastructure Manager who can lead from the front – technically and operationally. You’ll work at the heart of several exciting infrastructure modernisation programmes, including:

  • Designing and leading the technical migration to Azure Cloud, including adoption of SaaS and PaaS models to improve agility and scalability.
  • Co-leading our End User Computing (EUC) migration to Entra ID and Windows 11, helping deliver a secure, modern digital workplace.
  • Driving our IT architecture landscape review, shaping our future-state design and technology roadmaps.
  • Co-managing the evolution of our cybersecurity posture, ensuring resilience and compliance across all systems.

This is a high-impact role where your leadership will directly shape how we deliver public services through secure, reliable, and innovative digital infrastructure.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • Proven ability to design and implement strategic network and infrastructure plans that meet capacity, security and operational needs – now and in the future.
  • Strong experience ensuring compliance through robust IT architecture and resilient infrastructure.
  • Effective management of supplier and partner relationships – ensuring we get the best possible service and value.
  • Technical expertise to install, maintain and support core infrastructure components, operating systems, cloud services and specialised tools.

What we’re also looking for:

  • A forward-thinking leader with the passion to mentor and coach a small but capable team.
  • A natural collaborator who can work across IT and business functions to deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Someone with excellent programme and project management skills – capable of taking ownership from design through to delivery.
  • A confident communicator with a customer-focused, can-do attitude and a strong sense of purpose.

WE ASK A LOT WE KNOW BUT WE GIVE A LOT TOO! …

  • Flexibility: And we really mean it! We know you have to juggle work and life commitments and we are happy and open to discussing the right mix for you.
  • Wellbeing: When you thrive Elmbridge thrives, which is why we have developed a strong and varied wellbeing programme for our employees, from mindfulness to lunchtime table tennis – the options are there for you.
  • Learning and development: We all know learning doesn’t stop when you leave university, it is an ongoing journey and we will support you on that journey by creating a bespoke learning and development plan.
If you would like to know more, please have a look at our LinkedIn page and our careers site (elmbridge.gov.uk/joinus), to get more of a feel for the organisation.
