ROLE OVERVIEW:
An opportunity has arisen in the councils ICT service to join our Networking Team, as an IT Network Engineer.
This role is vital in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our network infrastructure across council sites. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and upgrading network hardware, managing firewalls and VPNs, and supporting the rollout of new technologies to improve service delivery.
We’re looking for someone with strong experience in Cisco and/or FortiGate network environments, a solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network security principles. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and contribute to strategic infrastructure projects.
