The Role

  • Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure for vessels, ports, and shore offices. • Manage and troubleshoot satellite communication systems (VSAT, Inmarsat, Iridium, Starlink, etc.). • Ensure secure and high-performance VPNs, firewalls, routers, and switches for vessel networks. • Monitor and optimize bandwidth usage for real-time fleet tracking and communication. • Implement cybersecurity protocols to protect vessel IT networks from cyber threats. • Support integration of fleet management software, IoT tracking systems, and ERP solutions. • Ensure compliance with IMO cybersecurity guidelines and maritime IT regulations. • Troubleshoot network issues and provide remote/on-site support for vessel crews. • Maintain disaster recovery and backup solutions for network configurations and data security. • Collaborate with ICT teams, fleet managers, and third-party service providers to optimize network performance.
