Join St John of God Midland Private Hospital as a Registrar in our brand new, state‑of‑the‑art level 1 Intensive Care Unit, where you will deliver high‑quality clinical care within a collaborative and consultant‑led environment. We are seeking passionate and experienced ICU Registrars who thrive in a modern clinical setting and are driven to provide safe, evidence‑based and compassionate care. Your Role As an ICU Registrar, you will play a vital role in providing high‑quality medical care across our ICU, CCU, HDU, and inpatient wards, supported by highly experienced ICU consultants. The successful candidate will have access to weekly education program and the opportunity to secure a further ICU semester at the accredited advanced training unit at SJOG Midland public. We are offering Fixed Term roles for 6 or 12 Months, Full-Time, Commencing August 2026 Clinical Duties Daily management of ICU and HDU patients Review of ward referrals and emergency department consultations Participation in the ICU outreach service Leading Medical Emergency Team (MET) responses, including paediatric, neonatal, and obstetric emergencies Participation in TPN rounds under consultant supervision Coordination of interhospital and intrahospital patient transport Procedural Exposure You will have the opportunity to perform and develop competency in a wide range of general ICU procedures, including: Invasive and non‑invasive mechanical ventilation Intubation Central venous catheter insertion Arterial line placement Chest drain insertion ECG, radiology, and ultrasound interpretation Renal replacement therapy (CVVHDF) You will be an enthusiastic and motivated doctor who is eligible for registration as a medical practitioner with AHPRA. You will bring at least six months of recent experience in either Intensive Care or Anaesthetics, along with procedural skills appropriate to the Registrar level. You will demonstrate highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities and show a strong commitment to teamwork, patient‑centred care, and ongoing professional development. In addition to this, qualifications such as BLS or ALS 1 and 2, completion of CICM or ANZCA Basic courses, and training in Paediatric Life Support (PLS) will be viewed favourably. About the new Midland Private Hospital A brand-new purpose-built state-of-the-art facility, currently under construction, located just 300 metres from the St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals Campus. A comprehensive range of medical and surgical services, with interventional cardiology being offered for the first time in the region The hospital will feature: 96 overnight inpatient beds, including a six-bed critical care/high dependency unit. 33-bed/chair short stay and day procedure unit Eight operating theatres.
