POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an enthusiastic IDC Design Assistant to join our design team. In this role, you will support the development of data center (IDC) projects, assisting with design tasks from concept through to construction drawings. This position is ideal for recent graduates or junior professionals looking to gain hands-on experience and build a solid foundation toward becoming a professional IDC designer.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Associate degree or above in Electrical Engineering, HVAC, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Design, Automation, or related fields. Recent graduates or candidates with up to 1 year of experience are welcome.
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or similar drafting software; familiarity with BIM tools is a plus.
  • Core Competencies: Strong willingness to learn and explore the IDC industry; detail-oriented, responsible, with good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to read and understand basic architectural and MEP drawings.

    Pay: $50,000.00-$75,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Assist engineers and designers in preparing and revising CAD drawings for IDC facilities, including cabinet layouts, power distribution, HVAC, and low-voltage systems.
  • Learn and apply BIM tools (e.g., Revit) to build simple models and components.
  • Organize, archive, and manage project design files, drawings, and technical documents.
  • Participate in internal meetings, take minutes, and track progress on design tasks.
  • Support quantity take-offs and the preliminary preparation of material lists (BOM).
  • Study and apply national and industry design standards, codes, and emerging technologies.
  • Carry out other supporting design tasks as assigned by senior designers.
