IDDSI CHEF (WITH ENHANCED DBS) – CARE & HEALTHCARE CATERING

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate IDDSI-trained Chef to join our catering team, providing high-quality, safe, and nutritious meals tailored to residents and service users with specific dietary and texture modification needs.
This is a rewarding role where your culinary expertise will directly support the health, dignity, and wellbeing of those in your care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve meals in line with IDDSI (International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative) guidelines
  • Ensure all dishes are safe, appealing, and meet individual nutritional and medical requirements
  • Work closely with care teams, dietitians, and speech & language therapists to deliver person-centred menus
  • Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, kitchen safety, and allergen management
  • Support menu planning, stock rotation, and compliance with health & safety regulations
  • Lead or assist in training kitchen staff on IDDSI standards where required

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS clearance (essential)
  • Proven chef/cook experience within healthcare, care homes, hospitals, or similar settings
  • Strong knowledge of IDDSI framework and texture-modified diets
  • Ability to produce high-quality, nutritious meals that are both safe and enjoyable
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
  • Food Safety Level 2 (minimum), with Level 3 or higher desirable
