Work Shift (if applicable): Shift 1 (United States of America) Job Description: Vitalant is currently seeking an Identity & Access Manageent Automation Engineer to design and implement automation solutions to streamline identity and access management operations. This role manages provisioning workflows, supports IAM technologies, and contributes to the development of secure, scalable access controls. The Engineer operates with moderate autonomy, collaborates across IT and business teams, and plays a key role in enhancing IAM maturity. Ideal candidates bring strong scripting skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to improving IAM processes. Key Skills:- Intermediate scripting and automation (PowerShell, object-oriented programming)- Active Directory and Azure configuration- IAM tool integration and support- Identity lifecycle automation- Compliance alignment and risk monitoring- Cross-functional collaboration and technical documentation Compensation: $92,000 - $110,000 This position will be located remotely working from an at-home office in the Phoenix, AZ metro area. As the Identity & Access Management Engineer, you'll get to: Ensure compliance with internal processes and external regulations; identify improvement opportunities and escalate issues as needed Design and implement automation scripts and workflows to improve IAM efficiency and reduce manual effort Manage user lifecycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding, and access provisioning/deprovisioning Support and maintain identity and access controls across Active Directory, Azure, and hybrid environments Evaluate IAM environment and recommend enhancements for automation, security, and performance Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FDA, and CIS Controls (IG3 safeguards) Assist with deployment, integration, and configuration of IAM tools and technologies Troubleshoot IAM issues, monitor workflows, and perform routine system maintenance Contribute to IAM policies, procedures, and long-term roadmap development Research IAM solutions; develop documentation and implementation specifications Monitor IAM risks, performance metrics, and compliance; report findings to IT leadership Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to meet IAM objectives Support system and software updates related to IAM initiatives Identify vulnerabilities, inefficiencies, and gaps; recommend actionable improvements Stay current on IAM and cybersecurity best practices, particularly in healthcare environments REQUIREMENTS: KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required, or an Associate’s degree plus two (2) additional years of relevant experience beyond the minimum experience qualifications, required. Demonstrated expertise in: PowerShell scripting and automation Object-oriented programming Identity lifecycle management Active Directory, Azure, LDAP IAM tools and integration with HR systems MFA, SSO, audit processes – Required Audit and risk management knowledge – Preferred LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS One or more of the following certifications (or equivalent) is required. These credentials demonstrate foundational to intermediate proficiency in IAM and security technologies: CompTIA Security+ Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate Okta Certified Professional Other vendor-specific or role-relevant IAM/security certifications EXPERIENCE Five (5) years of experience in identity and access management, including systems administration and support, required.
