The Industrial Engineer – Operational Excellence will be responsible for optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations. This role combines technical expertise in industrial engineering with strategic leadership in operational excellence to deliver sustainable performance improvements. What will you be doing? The role is responsible for conducting time and motion studies, analyzing machine and labor capacity, and determining optimal headcount requirements. It also involves developing and maintaining equipment capacity planning, supporting both short-term and long-term site capacity modeling. The candidate will design and implement engineering and business solutions to enhance production methods—reducing cycle time, eliminating redundant activities, and optimizing throughput. Additional responsibilities include maintaining ERP master data, creating standard work procedures, and leading initiatives to improve performance, efficiency, and waste reduction. Working closely with cross-functional teams—including Engineering, Quality, HSE, and Operations—the role supports the design of manufacturing cells, layout planning, material handling solutions, and lean tool implementation. The position also involves analyzing workflows, providing space utilization solutions, and supporting business demand through effective layout modeling. Compliance with HSE policies, proactive prevention of safety and environmental risks, and timely reporting of incidents are essential components of the role, along with performing tasks assigned by the Team Leader. What will you need to be successful? This role is based in Batu Kawan, Penang, Malaysia, and requires a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office, Visio, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD, with a solid understanding of time study methods such as MTM, MODAPTS, and MOST. A minimum of one year of experience in manufacturing management is required, with preference given to those with experience in the medical device industry. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement methodologies is highly desirable. The role also includes minimal travel requirements of less than 10%. You.Unlimited.
