We now have an exciting opportunity for someone who has an interest in supporting our innovation agenda to support R&D product improvements, through technical and human subject testing, providing the company with data and expertise.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the laboratory processes, sensory testing, systems and personnel comply with the Kimberly-Clark Quality Management System. The role is accountable for contributing to the business objectives and must demonstrate the One K-C Behaviours and values.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Safety and Compliance: Uphold the Northfleet Mill Safety Policy and maintain a safe working environment by rigorously applying 5S housekeeping standards.
  • Innovation Testing: Execute testing protocols to support consumer business innovations effectively.
  • KPI Development and Reporting: Develop, report, and analyze lab KPIs for stakeholders, conducting reviews with technicians to ensure targets are met. Prepare comprehensive budget and performance reports, create detailed monthly PowerPoint presentations, and lead coordination meetings to discuss lab results.
  • Team Coordination: Oversee daily priorities, distribute tasks efficiently, review outstanding jobs for compliance, supervise sensory tasks, manage TRFs, conduct annual equipment reviews, and implement necessary changes.
  • Quality Management System (QMS): Spearhead the development, implementation, and upkeep of an effective QMS. This includes conducting management reviews, internal audits, and updating the quality manual and policy.
  • Quality Objectives: Establish and communicate SMART quality objectives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, supported by relevant Key Performance Indicators.
  • Training: Deliver comprehensive training to laboratory team members, ensuring all tests and procedures are conducted accurately and adopting new testing methodologies.
  • Equipment Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in the use of test equipment, develop new testing protocols as needed, and collaborate with suppliers and in-house experts to maintain and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Systems Development: Lead and manage the development and troubleshooting of computer systems, offering training to team members and stakeholders as required.
  • Resource Management: Optimize resource management to meet customer requirements and expectations effectively.
  • LEAN Principles: Apply LEAN principles to enhance the working environment and practices, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Project Management: Lead and execute 1-2 annual projects focusing on instrument reliability or technological advancements for the lab.

Responsibilities

In one of our manufacturing roles, you’ll focus on winning with consumers and the market, while putting safety, mutual respect, and human dignity at the center. To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Have a structured and organised approach to document and record management.
  • Be able to effectively manage a team.
  • Proven ability of troubleshooting, problem solving and new process development.
  • Ability to use SAP, SharePoint, Coupa, JMP and a good understand of Excel (V-lookups, Macros and understanding of formulars).
  • Can demonstrate good communication skills across a range of levels within a business.
  • Be flexible to support changing business needs and priorities.
  • Be willing to travel to other EMEA locations to support trials if requested.
  • Have a degree level qualification or at least two years’ experience in a similar role (desirable but not essential)
