Description
Role Overview Bowtie is on a mission to redefine the insurance landscape. As we scale, we are seeking a strategic and highly execution-oriented IFRS 17 Technical and Strategy Lead with a robust Accounting & Finance Transformation background. Unlike a traditional reporting role, this position is designed for a builder who has navigated the complexities of IFRS 17 implementation through a strategic lens. You will not simply report under the framework; you will own the evolution of our financial architecture, bridging the gap between actuarial results and business strategy to drive enterprise value. Key Responsibilities Strategic Implementation & Finance Transformation Co-Lead the end-to-end evolution of the IFRS 17 framework, moving beyond compliance to optimize financial performance and expense efficiency. Drive strategic decisions on methodology and work closely with data engineers to ensure that we adopt a suitable data architecture, ensuring the IFRS 17 solution (ETL, CSM engines, and General Ledger) is integrated seamlessly with business operations. Oversee the "Strategic Target State" for business lines, co-own implementation plans that align with both local regulatory requirements and group-level financial goals. Technical Guidance & Business Insight Act as the lead technical expert for accounting policy decisions under IFRS 17, providing clarity on complex areas such as the General Measurement Model (GMM), PAA, and reinsurance accounting. Establish robust "Reasonableness Testing" and result analysis frameworks (e.g., CSM amortization trends, A/E variance analysis, and implied interest rate reasonableness). Perform deep-dive diagnoses of finance process pain points, identifying opportunities to accelerate reporting and automate processes. Performance Metrics & Management Reporting Develop and implement external expense metrics and KPIs (aligned with TWPI or IFRS 17 Operating Profit) to track business efficiency and cost-saving programs. Link external IFRS 17 metrics with internal KPIs at a functional level to ensure the organization is steering toward the same financial vision (OFSG, CSM, etc.). Translate complex IFRS 17 financial results into actionable insights for C-level management and stakeholders. Stakeholder Engagement & Project Leadership Co-lead in cross-functional workstreams (Finance, Actuarial, and IT) to resolve technical issues and implement tactical fixes across tools, methodology, and data. Act as the primary finance team liaison for IFRS 17 projects, managing relationships with external auditors and consultants while driving the internal socialization of new reporting standards. Qualifications and Experience Professional Background: 8+ years of experience in Finance Transformation, Accounting Advisory, or Audit within the insurance sector. (Experience in Big 4 Finance Consulting at a Senior Manager or Associate Director level is highly preferred). Technical Expertise: A proven track record in IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 implementation projects. You must have experience in the design and implementation phases, rather than just business-as-usual reporting. Education: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. A professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is required. Strategic Mindset: Experience linking IFRS 17 metrics to business strategy, such as expense efficiency programs, capital management, or M&A integration. Systems Fluency: Familiarity with IFRS 17 solutions (e.g., Prophet, SAS, Aptitude, or Oracle ERP) and the ability to bridge the gap between technical data and accounting entries. Leadership: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence C-suite stakeholders and lead multi-disciplinary teams through organizational change. We Offer Competitive remuneration package. Flexible working arrangements to support a healthy work-life balance. Comprehensive health and wellness benefits, including medical and dental coverage.
