JOB SUMMARY
The Inclusive History Project (IHP) is looking for a Project Program Coordinator to join our team at the University of Michigan-Flint, with a desired start date in September 2025.
The IHP is a multi-year presidential initiative studying and documenting a comprehensive history of the University of Michigan that stretches across its three campuses and Michigan Medicine. The IHP is working to engage the entire university and neighboring communities to better understand the institution’s full history, including its record on inclusion and exclusion, and to consider what actions this history demands in the present.
In this role, the Project Program Coordinator manager will contribute to the IHP’s historical research and provide project management and operational support for a range of IHP activities at UM-Flint. Specific roles and responsibilities include collaboration on a number of ongoing historical research projects on the Flint Campus, coordinating the IHP Steering Committee at UM-Flint, and contributing to planning and execution for the 2026 IHP Summit, to be held at UM-Flint in March 2026. This position will report to the IHP Director of Research for the Flint Campus, Dr. Lisa Lapeyrouse, and will also work in collaboration with IHP staff on the Ann Arbor and Dearborn campuses.
Candidates should have a background in historical research, project management, administration, and/or event support.
This is a term limited position for one (1) year, with the potential for renewal for a second year based on satisfactory performance and funding availability.
