JOB DESCRIPTION

Solis Applied Science is seeking a Expert-level Exploitation Specialist Synthetic Aperture Radar Scientist professional with experience in applied image processing and advanced analysis of radar imagery; possesses in-depth knowledge of radar imaging physics, phenomenology, and phase history processing. Position is in the Northern Virginia area.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Image Science, Remote Sensing, Earth Science, Physical Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Advanced expertise and proficiency in applied image processing and complex analysis of radar imagery.
  • In-depth knowledge of imaging radar physics, phenomenology, and phase history processing.
  • Proficient in imaging radar analysis techniques, using advanced image and signal processing methods and tools to support the development of new signatures and methodologies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of sensor design principles and their impact on sensor performance within this field/phenomenology.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in using NSG imagery ordering tools, electronic light tables, and related products.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all levels within the GEOINT Community.
  • Proven familiarity with the U.S. Intelligence Community, particularly in imagery collection, exploitation, and GEOINT’s role in the intelligence mission.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple national and service intelligence agencies/centers.
  • Knowledge of tasking overhead intelligence collection systems.
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Windows operating system.

  • Formal training and experience in remote sensing, earth science/physical science, or engineering/mathematical disciplines.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as IDL, Java, C++, Visual Basic, MATLAB, R, or other coding languages.
