The UPMC Diagnostic Imaging 2 Year Apprenticeship Program is a highly competitive initiative designed to offer participants practical clinical experience, relevant academic coursework, and financial support while enrolled in the CCAC Radiologic Technologist Training Program. This Apprenticeship Program gives you the chance to earn a full-time salary while working part-time hours—all while working toward your Associate’s Degree in Radiology through the Community College of Allegheny County. This unique “earn while you learn” opportunity combines classroom instruction with hands-on clinical training in UPMC’s Level 1 trauma centers. You’ll gain real-world experience, work alongside expert physicians, and receive progressive pay increases as you advance toward becoming a Radiologic Technologist. Enrollment in CCAC's Radiology program. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Licenses, Certifications, and Clearances: Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire. Responsibilities
Participants will operate X-ray and Fluoroscopic equipment for diagnostic exams and assist physicians with advanced, image-guided procedures. They will perform various X-ray exams in different settings including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency departments.
