Description Tanner Clinic has an immediate opening for an Imaging Office Specialist. Essential Job Responsibilities: Review incoming MRI/CT orders for accuracy. Communicate with provider offices, technologist, and radiologist to ensure appropriate orders. Prepare orders and prior reports for the following days MRI, CT, and Ultrasound schedules. Greet patients in a warm, friendly, and prompt manner. Assist in maintaining efficiency within the imaging department, including getting patients prepared (changed into scrubs or other appropriate attire) prior to their exam(s). Work on a EHR system Other duties as assigned Requirements Education: High school or equivalent Experience: Previous healthcare experience and/or familiarity with medical terminology helpful. Experience with business office equipment (phone, fax machines, printers, etc. ) preferred. Other Requirements: Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job Performance Requirements: Knowledge: Knowledge of laws and guidelines regarding medical records maintenance, confidentiality, and release. Knowledge of medical terminology and departmental services. Skills: Basic computer skills Possess pleasant and effective written, verbal, and telephone communication skills. Ability to speak clearly and loud enough to be heard by callers and patients. Adequate hearing to answer and speak with others via telephone. Abilities: Ability to maintain a professional demeanor during stressful situations. Prevents, calms, or defuses irate callers and patients by working with them to identify concerns and properly directs calls. Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc. Work Environment: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc. Mental/Physical Requirements: Involves walking or standing approximately 60-70 percent of the day with sitting the remainder.
