POSITION OVERVIEW

Under the general direction of the Administrative Director, the Charge Technologists within Diagnostic Imaging and the supervision of the Diagnostic Services Assistant, the incumbent performs a variety of tasks relating to the scheduling of Diagnostic Imaging procedures.

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 1-year experience in a Diagnostic Imaging environment is required.
  • Previous experience in scheduling Diagnostic Imaging procedures is required.
  • Experience with “windows based” Radiology Information System (RIS) and scheduling modules is required.
  • Experience in general office procedures and various types of filing systems is required.

EDUCATION (DEGREE/DIPLOMA/CERTIFICATE)

  • Grade 12 education.
  • Completion of a recognized course in Medical Terminology is required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • A minimum typing speed of 40 wpm in required.
  • Proficiency in “windows based” computers system is required.
  • A thorough knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging Procedures and patient preparation is required.
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to function in a demanding and stressful environment.
