Major Accountabilities: Utilize expertise in composite materials to support the selection, evaluation, and qualification of materials for use in hardware and product engineering projects. Participate in the selection and procurement of components for hardware and product engineering projects, considering factors such as performance, reliability, cost, and regulatory compliance. Conduct research and analysis to identify suitable components and suppliers, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of market trends and advancements in materials technology. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to materials selection, usage, and handling, including environmental regulations and safety standards. Perform reliability analysis of materials and components used in hardware and product engineering projects, assessing their durability, lifespan, and performance under various operating conditions. Identify potential failure modes and develop strategies to mitigate risks and improve the reliability of hardware systems. Manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) for hardware and product engineering projects, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
