SUMMARY

The Vice President of Operations and Facilities is responsible for orchestrating and optimizing the operational engine that enables IMG Academy to deliver safe, world-class experiences to student-athletes, campers, staff, and guests. This leader serves as both architect and executor of the campus infrastructure, overseeing core functions across IMG Academy’s 600-acre multi-use campus – from daily logistics to long-term capital planning.
Success in this role requires strategic thinking, hands-on leadership, and the ability to simplify complexity into scalable, integrated operations. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in fast-paced, customer-focused environments and thrives on solving problems and driving excellence behind the scenes. They bring a data-informed approach to decision-making, using operational insights to improve performance and anticipate future needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Significant senior-level operational leadership experience in high-touch, complex environments such as academic institutions, sports venues, resorts, or large-scale facilities.
• Demonstrated success overseeing diverse operational functions, including facilities, safety/security, logistics, and service delivery.
• Proven experience leading capital projects and infrastructure upgrades from planning through execution.
• Strong decision-making skills with the ability to balance competing priorities and deliver results under pressure.
• Systems-oriented thinker committed to continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and service excellence.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organization.
• Experience developing, implementing, and leading emergency preparedness and crisis response protocols.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, Hospitality, or a related field.
• Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and during emergency events.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Hospitality, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency with budgeting tools, operational software, and data analytics platforms to inform decision-making.
• Knowledge of compliance requirements related to large campuses or student-centered environments.
• Ability to maintain a strong, visible presence across campus operations, indoors and outdoors.

• Act as a key member of the Campus Leadership Team and principal operational advisor to the COO.
• Shape and execute campus-wide operational strategies that support IMG Academy’s growth, experience, and performance objectives.
• Provide visionary leadership and clear direction across all operational departments, including campus safety, grounds, maintenance, events, and facilities, ensuring each function operates at the highest standard of excellence in service of student-athletes, staff, and guests.
• Oversee campus safety operations, implementing proactive and best in class risk management strategies to create a secure and responsive environment.
• Drive the planning and execution of capital projects, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades. Deliver projects on time, on budget, and aligned with long-term strategic goals.
• Lead the planning and delivery of construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with IMG Academy’s strategic goals.
• Champion and leverage data, technology, and best-in-class operational practices to anticipate needs, adapt to change, and position IMG Academy for mission critical planned growth.
• Embrace the use of operational technology to drive efficiency, predictive planning, and transparency across operational functions.
• Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of directors and staff, building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Lead crisis and emergency response planning, serving as chair of the Emergency Response Team and ensuring effective protocols and communication across campus.
• Partner closely with Finance to manage operational budgets with precision and transparency. Identify cost-saving opportunities while enhancing value and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with unrivaled alignment with all pertinent departments across campus to ensure operational readiness for all on-campus activity– from daily programming to high-visibility camps, events, and capital expansion projects.
• Oversee critical vendor and contractor relationships across facilities, services, and infrastructure projects. Ensure all third-party contributions meet IMG Academy’s performance standards and align with the Academy’s values and service expectations.
• Champion operational compliance with all regulatory, organizational, and ethical standards.
• Take on additional leadership responsibilities as needed to support the evolving needs of IMG Academy and its purpose.
