Description

HI THERE! WE’RE ALMA

We’re on a mission to make immigration more accessible, transparent, and human through cutting-edge technology and thoughtful legal support. Alma is backed by top-tier investors like Village Global, NFX, and Conviction, and we’re founded by a diverse team of Harvard Law, HBS, and UCLA grads with experience at Cooley, McKinsey, EY, and Uber.
We’re looking for an organized and detail-oriented Immigration Coordinator to join our fast-growing legal team. This is an onsite role based in our Palo Alto, California office, supporting our legal team with case preparation and operational tasks. If you’re meticulous, thrive on keeping things running smoothly, and are excited to learn about immigration law from the ground up, we’d love to hear from you.

YOU SHOULD NOT APPLY IF:

  • You’re looking for a traditional law firm environment with strict roles, long memos, and well-worn routines - we’re startup-minded and always evolving.
  • You’re not comfortable working in ambiguity - immigration law can be gray, and we often navigate unclear paths with strategic thinking and collaboration.
  • You’d rather focus solely on execution with direction than thinking through how to improve the systems and processes behind the work - iteration is core to how we grow.
Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll work behind the scenes to support our legal team in preparing immigration cases. Your day-to-day will focus on administrative and operational tasks that are critical to ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our casework. Over time, there’s room to grow into a paralegal role and take on more complex case preparation.

Here’s what you can expect to spend your time on:

  • Printing, assembling, and shipping case materials with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Performing data entry and maintaining case files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Reviewing case packets for errors or missing information.
  • Supporting internal knowledge management and document organization.
  • Assisting with other administrative tasks to keep our legal operations running smoothly.
