Role description: This role is responsible for providing strategic, high‑quality support in delivering Australian immigration services and domestic relocation projects, while ensuring alignment between Arcadis’ global mobility and immigration strategies and the priorities of the Australian business. The position manages both domestic and international relocations for external hires and supports global transfers and assignments, ensuring compliance, consistency, and effective vendor management. It serves as the primary point of contact for People Business Partners, Global People teams, GPSS, payroll, managers, and employees in Australia, offering guidance on global mobility policies, immigration processes, and compliance with regional legislation. Additionally, the role oversees governance of mobility and immigration practices, supports key mobility and immigration projects, and assists the People Services Manager in maintaining consistent and compliant delivery across the region in line with global policies. The Immigration & Mobility Partner role reports directly to the People Services Manager role. Role accountabilities: The main responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: Global Mobility and Australian Immigration – Advisory Support & Execution Provide specialist technical subject matter expertise in Australian immigration, domestic mobility and global mobility for the Australian business, including providing local subject matter expertise and quality support for Australian immigration compliance. Provide guidance to the business and People teams to manage compliance requirements with respect to all Australian immigration matters including, Long-Term Visas (TSS 482), Permanent Residency, and Short-Term Business Travellers (eg 400 visa). Provide support to the Global Mobility Team to support the business for the Australia region for all Global Mobility matters. Advising the business and People on the correct application of policy and providing guidance on the selection of the appropriate policy type for employee moves. Monitor region specific country immigration legislation changes and market trends. Develop execute mobility programs and solutions (immigration, and domestic relocation services). Relocation may include shipping of household goods, temporary housing, expense tracking & counselling) in line with Domestic Standards and Global Policy. Manage domestic assignment and relocation program in Australia. This includes preparing cost estimates, assignment and relocation offers, reporting, and tracking by utilising Arcadis’ domestic standards , processes and systems. Manage temporary change in work location requests in Australia to ensure immigration, tax and business requirements are met. Resolve complex employee and leader queries to support the business with escalation of service delivery and compliance issues. Collaborate with People Business Partners/Advisors, Talent Acquisition, Shared Services, Payroll teams in respect of delivery of strategic talent mobility priorities, assignment initiations, review and approval of assignment documentation and related arrangements. Working with all key stakeholders, including third party providers, to ensure Immigration and Domestic relocation service delivery is ‘fit for purpose’ and effectively delivered to clients in this region. This includes coordinate initiations and service delivery with external providers for destination and relocation services, and immigration advice. Invoice management. Track and monitor all visa expiry dates, international and domestic assignments dates, and temporary change in work locations to ensure compliance and sponsorship obligations. Ensuring governance and compliance with all policy, tax and immigration requirements Monthly reporting to Australian Management Team on all Immigration, Domestic and International Mobility matters. Global Mobility and Australian Immigration – Strategic Support Oversee Mobility operations support of People BP and Talent Acquisition Team in delivery of strategic talent mobility priorities. Ensures delivery of quality mobility operations and immigration support, in order to attract & retain talent based on local market requirements & business needs. Continuous Improvement & Governance Ensure alignment and compliance of local regional practices with global policy and procedures through governance practices. Review and implement continuous improvement initiative of immigration processes tools, templates and systems to ensure compliance with regulatory and governance requirements in the region. Proactively seek opportunities to enhance standardisation, consistency, effectiveness and efficiency. Monitor the services of external vendors, to ensure standard of services provided is meeting business expectations. Manage vendor service delivery, continuous improvement and cost saving initiatives. Develop and implement policies and procedures in line with the overall business strategy, legislation and Regional and Global People Strategies with a focus on Domestic Mobility and Australian Immigration. Work with the employees and managers as appropriate in the formulation of immigration and relocation plans and activities to support projects. Support the roll-out of the global mobility policies and processes throughout the Australian region to gain consistency of delivery. Participate in Global Mobility Community of Practices to build capability and improve the People Mobility Experience. Provide coaching, mentoring and support to People Services team to ensure quality service and achievement of immigration and mobility objectives. Support the People Services Manager with delivery of strategic initiatives as required. General Performs other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by the People Services Manager. Compliance with Health and Safety regulations and guidelines. Engages in Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Qualifications & Experience: Minimum of 8 years’ relevant People experience and at least 5+ years’ experience in HR role focused on Global Mobility principles, policies, and assignee lifecycle. Thorough knowledge of and experience in Australian immigration system and various Australian visa options. Technical specialist experience in global mobility concepts, methodologies and approaches Demonstrated experience in managing international assignments. Strong focus on employee/assignee experience through the immigration and assignee lifecycle Demonstrated experience in resolving issues in a highly complex legislative context across multiple jurisdictions. Demonstrated capability in leading and driving change in key areas such as global mobility principles and policy, employee/assignee experience and engagement, employee relations and workforce management, combined with a high level of project management capability. Demonstrated ability to write successful business cases to senior management understanding business drivers, cost implications, and employment impacts. Excellent stakeholder management skills and demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships with external vendors (eg. immigration, relocation) and monitor their compliance and service delivery. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of the business. Knowledge of local employment legislation and ability to manage high risk employee relations issues autonomously particularly related to immigration/work rights status. Tertiary qualification in a related field and registered or accredited professional with AHRI. Professional services background, with a demonstrated understanding of commercial business and process.
