Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We are seeking an Impairment Benefits Specialist (IBS) to join our team on a part time basis, 3 days per week. As an IBS, you will be a point of expertise within Gallagher Bassett’s Workers Compensation team relating to Impairment Benefits and Permanent Impairment claims.
In this technical role, you will complete thorough assessments of Impairment claims for injured workers, supplementary to their primary claim. As part of this review process, you will be responsible for determining eligibility for lump sum impairment payments for injured workers who have been impacted by impairment as a result of a Workplace Injury. Your acute attention to detail, and sound decision making within Workers Compensation legislative frameworks will be key attributes contributing to your success in this position.
How you’ll make an impact:

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Calculating Impairment Benefit Lump Sum payments, and processing these for Injured workers
  • Arranging Impairment Assessments and preparing relevant documentation and notices relating to requests for Impairment Benefit lump sum payments
  • Providing a professional and customer focused claims service for all injured workers through managing impairment claims in accordance with legislation
  • Acting as a technical reference point for other team members regarding impairment benefit queries
  • Ensuring impairment assessments are accurate and complying with relevant legislation if and when required
  • Attending internal and external training courses to update technical knowledge and personal development
