Position: Import entry Writer
Location: 147-20 181st Street, Jamaica, NY 11413
The ideal candidate will have previous experience as an air import entry writer and be able to handle the Customs entry and delivery of all shipments from start to finish with minimum supervision; love working with customers; and invoice all shipments accurately and quickly.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a High School diploma or GED
At least a basic knowledge of MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
3-5 Years experience as entry writer

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Processing entries through ABI.
  • Use the Harmonized Tariff Schedule to classify a diverse range of commodities.
  • Research Government Regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Examine, interpret and research information received from all parties to the shipment and take appropriate action.
  • Prepare accurate and timely formal and informal regular and OGA Customs Entries from start to finish.
  • Submit all entries via computerized ABI interface and troubleshoot problems.
  • Co-ordinate and prepare all documentation for the timely delivery of imported goods from carrier to ultimate consignee.
  • Find and obtain low cost vendors without sacrificing service.
  • Prepare and submit all billing invoices.
  • Obtain and data input all costs associated with shipments.
  • Responsible for the timeliness, completeness and accuracy of all of your work.
  • Keep legible and accurate files/records a required by law and our company policies.
  • Work within both the company’s, TSA and C-TPAT rules and all U.S. regulations.
  • Provide timely and accurate customer service in line with company standards.
  • Work closely with your immediate supervisor, take direction and report any problems immediately.
  • Perform any other duty or task as assigned.
