JOB OVERVIEW:

An innovative consumer products company is seeking to recruit an import coordinator. The import coordinator will be responsible for the timely import coordination of overseas freight to USA warehouses. The new employee will work within the Purchasing Department and will receive support and guidance from Purchasing Manager, Sourcing Director and other Department Leads. This position has room for growth and expansion in a company that is always looking to push employees to the levels that they want to professionally reach. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, eager to learn/grow and have experience working in Import/Export.

Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Coordinate with overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers, terminals, truckers, warehouses, and customers to ensure timely release and delivery of freight and empty container return
  • Responsible for coordinating all activities involving import shipments: CY-Door, DDP, DI, CFS/CFS, CY/CY.
  • Handle shipments via all modes of transportation, LCL, FCL and Airfreight.
  • Maintain clean, organized files, keep important dates, and verify documentation accuracy.
  • Classify all entries, assisting the sourcing team with correct HTS numbers and import regulations for new projects.
  • Identify and resolve issues which could delay release or delivery of freight
  • Communicate with vendors and solve any shipping questions or problems.
  • Coordinate all deliveries with drayage truckers and arrange collections of goods at CFS and Airport for LCL and airfreight shipments, along with container returns.
  • Work with customs broker to make sure ISF and entries are filed in a timely manner, having experience with other CBP agencies such as FDA & Agriculture, to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Process invoices for vendor, freight & customs payment.
  • Ensure shipments are fully released with customs & freight carriers by arrival date, to ensure quick collection of goods without going into demurrage or storage.

Position Preferences / Requirements:

  • Proficient in MS Office, in particular Microsoft Excel (Microsoft Access also preferred)
  • Accurate numeric and analytical skills
  • Ability to work without close supervision
  • Capable of grasping new concepts quickly
  • Function effectively as a team player in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with import coordination
  • JDE experience preferable

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $27.00 per hour
