POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Import Operations Associate to join our dynamic logistics team in Norwalk, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing international import shipments, ensuring compliance with U.S. customs regulations, and maintaining clear communication with vendors, carriers, and customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-3 years of experience in import operations, logistics, or freight forwarding
  • Knowledge of U.S. import regulations and documentation requirements
  • Familiarity with U.S. Customs processes, ISF filing, and entry procedures
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with logistics software or ERP systems a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate import shipments from origin to final delivery
  • Prepare and process documentation required for customs clearance (ISF, commercial invoices, packing lists, etc.)
  • Monitor shipments to ensure timely arrival and resolve any delays or issues
  • Communicate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and internal teams
  • Verify and process bills of lading, arrival notices, and delivery orders
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations
  • Maintain up-to-date records in the company’s transportation management system (TMS)
  • Assist with HS code classification and duty assessments
  • Track shipments and provide status updates to customers and internal departments
  • Support process improvements to optimize supply chain efficiency
