IMPORT EXPORT SPECIALIST Schedule:  Monday - Friday 10am - 7pm SUMMARY  Control and maintain U.S. Customs documentation for Bonded Warehouse.  Assure compliance with Customs Regulations and meet customer needs.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Work with carriers and customs brokers in preparing for admission and withdrawals of bonded freight.   Process Customer Expected Receipts and Customer Orders in ASCTrac.   Maintain bonded warehouse Permit Files documentation in accurate, organized order for customs spot audits and unexpected Customs visits.  Maintain accurate Bonded Warehouse Control sheets via Excel.  Report arrival of freight to Customs Broker for receipt of BW Permit Copy (7501) to BW.   Run weekly/monthly inventory report with 100% accuracy.  Submit Permit File timely with U.S. Customs vis DIS upon Final Withdrawal. Work with Material Handler to assure accurate withdrawals and inventory counts. Able to communicate and coordinate with U.S. Customs for approvals for manipulations, destruction or reporting of discrepancies, when needed.  Conduct regular internal audit / spot check of bonded warehouse area for cleanliness and proper handling.  Maintain and file timely the end-of-year reconciliation report (CF300).   Report timely to management any unusual situations or unknown issues that arise.  Interact with customers and suppliers to resolve daily issues, give feedback, respond to emails timely.   Assure all Customs deadlines are met to avoid penalties, errors.  Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Help with other functions when not active with bonded Warehouse responsibilities.   QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Knowledge, ability and attention to detail to perform day-to-day operations. Ability to work with Excel Spreadsheets. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred; or minimum two years related experience and/or training in Customs Brokerage; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.   Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Intermediate Skills:  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, are, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.  REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret and variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.   CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES There are no special certifications/licenses for this job.  During the job, the BW Coordinator may be required to attend any local CBP, or Association, training / workshops.
