JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking an experienced Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist to join our U.S. operations team. This role is responsible for ensuring full compliance with U.S. Customs regulations for both import and export activities, including documentation, broker management, and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with customs brokers, internal stakeholders, and government agencies to ensure accurate and efficient international trade operations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma with relevant experience
Minimum 2+ years of direct U.S. import/export experience
Working knowledge of:
· Customs clearance processes
· HTS classification and valuation
· U.S. import/export laws and regulations
Familiarity with government agency requirements (FDA, EPA, etc.)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with SAP
Licensed U.S. Customs Broker (a strong plus)
Knowledge of international trade agreements (e.g., USMCA) and duty-saving strategies
Familiarity with section tariffs and anti-dumping regulations
(LH-R1)

Prepare and submit clearance instructions to customs brokers ensuring compliance with U.S. import laws and internal procedures
Manage regulatory requirements for U.S. imports, including FDA, EPA, AD/CVD, Section 201/301/232, quotas, and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs)
Monitor shipments to ensure timely customs clearance and address delays or issues
Ensure complete export compliance: review export documentation, file Electronic Export Information (EEI), and maintain accurate records
Collaborate with internal departments, suppliers, and brokers to gather and validate information
Apply knowledge of U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and General Rules of Interpretation for classification
Support duty minimization programs such as U.S. Goods Returned and USMCA
Ensure recordkeeping and documentation standards meet federal requirements
Identify and resolve trade compliance risks or discrepancies
