Description:

DATA STRATEGIST INTRO:

The Registries Modernization team, a part of Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction (SARTR) in collaboration with the Digital Design and Delivery division of Technology and Innovation (TI), is embarking on an ambitious project to modernize and innovate registry services for Albertans. We are seeking a skilled Data Strategist to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive data strategy across multiple registries including Motor Vehicles, Land Titles, Vital Statistics, Personal Property, and Corporate Registry. This role requires a dynamic individual experienced in agile project delivery and complex IT systems, who can provide innovative solutions and strategic direction in a client-centric environment.

DATA STRATEGIST MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in implementing enterprise data strategy and data governance.
  • Proven track record in the development and implementation of data platforms, governance standards, and information lifecycle management.
  • Extensive experience providing consultation and support to clients at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and implement government-wide data strategies and mandates.
  • Strong background in Data Governance with at least 3 years of focused experience in this area.

DATA STRATEGIST DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience conducting risk assessments and interpreting their impact across various scenarios.
  • Background in data analytics, data science, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative analysis of project costs and benefits.
  • Experience with complex IT systems integration, managing multiple data sources and legacy solutions.
  • Familiarity with data management tools such as BI, analytics platforms, and data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of Information Governance, records management, and information management.
  • Agile software development experience, particularly in service design-based product delivery for large organizations or complex projects.
  • Active professional certification or accreditation in a related discipline.
