Description JOB SUMMARY Responsible for preparing and packaging food in the CRAA Kitchen in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations and various airline requirements. This position reports to the Inflight Kitchen Executive Chef. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Responsible for preparing and packaging a variety of food. Follows approved safety and health procedures to prepare (wash, peel, slice, trim, chop, grate, measure weigh, and mix) food according to recipes and guidelines; assembles and packages food per customers’ specifications; ensures quality and safety of all food leaving the facility. Receives and stores food supplies, equipment, and utensils organize and maintains cleanliness of storage areas to include refrigerators, freezers, and cupboards; processes and stores multiple deliveries per week in the proper location, at the proper temperatures, and per all applicable health and safety guidelines. Maintains cleanliness of the kitchen removes all refuse and cleans kitchen refuse containers; cleans and sanitizes preparation areas/storage areas/tools, containers, and utensils; wears appropriate clothing/headwear/gloves; performs all cleaning and preparation chores per regulatory requirements. Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated timeframes and per established procedures: receives and reviews various documentation to include invoices, menus, recipes, memos, and email; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate; prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation as needed; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports as needed; and maintains computerized and/or hardcopy records. Operates or uses various equipment and supplies in order to complete work assignments operate and maintains pallet jack, mixers, scales, ovens, blenders, food processors, and other kitchen equipment; operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review, or modify data, spreadsheets, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions. Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK: High school graduation or acquisition of a GED. Any combination of work experience in a related field. Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience. Specific License or Certification Required: Valid South Carolina driver’s license.
