OVERVIEW

Providence is currently in need of a caregiver with verifiable experience working with patients suffering from cognitive impairment. The caregiver hired for this position must be experienced in providing assistance with general ADL’s, as well as providing compassionate care during periods of cognitive difficulty or memory loss. They will become an integral part of the lives of both the patient and their family, and will be instrumental in helping them remain living independently.

Providence Home Care is a non-medical caregiving organization serving patients in San Diego, CA. Our caregivers provide personal care, homemaking and companionship services, as well as respite to current caregivers (professional and family).

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Ability to read, understand, and follow simple instructions in English.
• Ability to write simple notes in English.
• Ability to follow directions in written and verbal forms.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
• Ability to maintain positive attitude at all times.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be knowledgeable of communication techniques for individuals suffering from cognitive impairment and/or memory loss.
• Must be knowledgeable of behavioral management techniques.
• Ability to predict and minimize hazards to the patient both within the home and without.
• Must be able to remain alert for wandering, falls or general confusion.
  Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
