JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Counsel to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in NYS Workers’ Compensation Law. This role requires strong negotiation skills and the ability to provide sound legal advice while managing a diverse caseload. The Counsel will be responsible for representing clients in legal matters, conducting thorough legal research, and drafting necessary documents.

Responsibilities
  • Provide legal counsel and representation in NYS Workers’ Compensation Law.
  • Conduct negotiations on behalf of clients to reach favorable settlements or agreements.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents including memos, motions, briefs, appeals, rebuttals and settlement agreements.
  • Perform extensive legal research utilizing tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may affect clients’ cases or interests.
  • Represent clients in litigation proceedings when necessary.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to ensure comprehensive case management.
  • Advise adjusters on compliance issues, settlements and litigation management.
