Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and enthusiastic lawyer with corporate and commercial experience to join our legal team. This is an exciting time to join one of the fastest growing sports and health technology companies in the world, working on a broad range of legal matters supporting VALD’s vision to democratize access to human measurement technology.
This role will report directly to VALD’s CFO and General Counsel and play a crucial part in providing expert legal advice. As a result, you will have an opportunity to see the inner workings of a fast-growing technology company.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

You will negotiate, draft and review commercial contracts, manage disputes, and offer strategic legal guidance across multiple departments.

This role provides an opportunity for a collaborative, enthusiastic individual to join our team and performing the following tasks:

  • Provide day-to-day legal support on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including transactional work, client and supplier agreements, intellectual property matters and governance matters.
  • You will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business and provide legal advice on corporate and commercial matters.
  • Manage a diverse and complex workload, including overseeing and managing disputes or claims related to business operations, working with external counsel when necessary.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, locally and abroad.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define clear legal requirements for the implementation of their respective roadmaps.
  • Prepared materials and led legal discussions with internal and external stakeholders, including the Board, on key legal matters.

To qualify for the role, there are some basic minimum requirements:

  • You have a law degree and unrestricted Australian Practising Certificate.
  • You have between 3 to 6 years’ PQE with a mid or top-tier firm or in-house.
  • You have experience working on corporate and commercial work
