Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a practical, hands on Employment Lawyer to join us in-house and take ownership of employment law and HR matters across the business.
Day to day, you’ll be supporting HR and management on employee relations, policies, and compliance. But crucially, you’ll also personally handle Employment Tribunal cases, from drafting responses through to advocacy at hearings, helping us resolve disputes in-house rather than relying on external firms.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of advisory ER work and litigation and wants to make a real impact in a fast growing national retailer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide day-to-day advice on employee relations, disciplinaries, grievances, and dismissals
  • Draft and update contracts, settlement agreements, and HR policies
  • Conduct and oversee workplace investigations
  • Manage employment disputes end to end, including drafting ET3 responses, preparing bundles, liaising with ACAS, and representing VPZ at Employment Tribunals
  • Advise management on compliance with employment legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Balance risk with commercial reality, offering pragmatic solutions that enable growth
  • Build strong relationships with HR and leadership teams, acting as a trusted in-house adviser
