Description Position Summary The In-House Kitchen Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality, nutritious meals for Palm House team members in a high-volume kitchen setting. This position requires prior experience cooking for large groups and the ability to execute meals efficiently while maintaining consistency, cleanliness, and food safety standards. This role plays an important part in supporting our staff by providing reliable, well-prepared meals in a professional and organized kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook daily meals for large groups of employees Execute menus designed for high-volume production while maintaining quality and consistency Assist with menu planning focused on balanced, cost-effective, and appealing meals Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen, prep, and storage areas Properly label, store, and rotate food following FIFO standards Communicate inventory needs and prep requirements to culinary leadership Accommodate basic dietary needs and restrictions when possible Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure smooth daily operations Qualifications & Experience Required: Previous experience cooking for large groups or in high-volume food production (cafeterias, employee dining, banquets, schools, hospitals, or similar environments) Strong understanding of basic cooking techniques and food preparation Knowledge of food safety and sanitation best practices Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs Reliable, punctual, and professional Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and use of hands and arms for food preparation Ability to work in a kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, and kitchen equipment Manual dexterity sufficient to safely operate kitchen tools and equipment Ability to maintain focus and efficiency in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
