REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • Professionally qualified lawyer, ideally with 2 - 4 years’ PQE in the UK and/or Ireland (with experience in the US desirable but not essential) (although all relevant applications will be considered).
  • Qualified to practice law in the UK and/or Ireland/EU.
  • Ability to structure, draft and negotiate a high volume and broad range of commercial contracts.
  • Overall broad legal knowledge of technology, software, compliance, data privacy, and IP matters.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional and geographically dispersed environment with multiple stakeholders and teams.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and ethical decision-making with a minimal amount of supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to effectively multi-task and adhere to many concurrent deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure, to prioritise effectively and provide concise, commercially driven legal advice.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail is essential.
  • Flexible and open to constant challenge and change within a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities

ABOUT THIS ROLE

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Legal Counsel to join our in-house legal team at a leading digital pathology company based in the UK/Ireland.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to review, draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts across multiple jurisdictions including master services agreements, SaaS agreements, software license agreements, contractor services agreements, non-disclosure agreements and supplier agreements.
  • Update and standardize precedents as necessary and play a key role in the management and organization of the company’s customer and supplier contracts including oversight of the contracts database.
  • Provide comprehensive, accurate and practical advice regarding various legal issues including corporate/commercial, regulatory, privacy, and IP matters.
  • Conduct and advise on a wide range of Data Protection matters relating to the business activities and the interlink in a wide range of contracts.
  • Monitor and keep abreast of legal developments and legislative changes that may impact business and company goals.
  • Structure/maintenance of intercompany agreements between various Deciphex entities.
