Description

AMPTIUS IS LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED GCMS ENGINEER TO JOIN OUR TEAM. WE SPECIALIZE IN REFURBRSHING USED GCMS, HPLC, LCMS AND ICP INSTRUMENTS. OUR BUSINESS IS EXPANDING AND THERE IS A GROWING NEED FOR AN INIDIVIDUAL TO COME IN AND BE AN ABSOLUTE GCMS SUPERHERO AND SAVE WHAT COULD BE LOOKED AS A PIECE OF JUNK INTO AN ABSOLUTE STATE-OF THE ART, REFURBRISHED AND WORKING PIECE OF INSTRUMENTATION.

The applying individual would have ideal previous roles matched to but not limited to Lab Facilities Manager, Field Service Engineer or Lab Instrumentation Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair GC and GC/MS Instrumentation
  • Isolate faults and repair at the component or subsystem level, not simply replace entire assemblies
  • Reverse engineer solutions when service manuals or OEM documentation are unavailable
  • Perform post-repair system suitability tests to confirm performance and stability
  • Maintain clear repair records and communicate technical findings to internal stakeholders
  • Assist with system integration, configuration, and requalification where necessary
  • Uphold high workmanship standards on all outgoing systems

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in laboratory instrumentation repair
  • Demonstrated expertise with Analaytical Instrumentation, Primarily GCMS.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot across electrical, mechanical, and software domains
  • Ability to work without documentation, must be able to think critically and solve problems with limited resources
  • Capable of interpreting electrical schematics and diagnosing circuit-level issues
  • Comfortable performing system-level diagnostics
  • Able to conduct post-repair testing to validate functionality (tune reports, pressure profiles, baseline inspection, etc.)

Preferred but Not Required

  • Board-level diagnostics and soldering
  • Refurbishment experience for resale environments
  • Familiarity with system integration projects or hybrid configurations

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
