About the JW Marriott Nashville: The JW Marriott Nashville Hotel offers the ideal location for leisure, business and meeting guests in the heart of downtown Nashville, adjacent to the state-of-the-art Music City Center. The first-to-market JW Marriott property includes 533 guestrooms, inclusive of 37 suites, along with a broad array of amenities. The 33-story hotel features 50,000 square feet of indoor function space, an expansive 10,000 square-foot outdoor pool and lounging deck overlooking the city skyline, as well as a 15,000 square foot event lawn. Examples of Duties (includes but is not limited to the following): * Become familiar with all menu items, wine, and spirits. * Take and deliver food and beverage orders to guests and ensure correct and prompt delivery of * Enter order into computer system to request food preparation. * Observe guests to respond if additional service is required. * Prepare check and deliver to guests when finished. * Clear, clean, reset, and maintain station during shift. * Pick up guest trays from room. * Follow all proper cash, credit card, and room charge procedures. * Follow all proper check control procedures. * Perform additional duties and projects as assigned Position Requirements: * Knowledge of the basic functions of food operations * Knowledge of all liquor laws and regulations concerning service of alcoholic beverages * Working knowledge of acceptable standards of sanitation and proper chemical usage * Ability to perform basic math skills * Ability to handle money and make correct change * Comprehension of POS system * Ability to speak, read, write and understand English * Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment Education: * High School education or equivalent
