Reports To: Executive Director, Skills Canada Saskatchewan
Employment Type: Full-time
Travel Required: Yes – frequent travel to schools and events across Saskatchewan
Compesation: $22.50 – $24.00/hr

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The In-School Education Facilitator plays a vital role in delivering Skills Canada Saskatchewan’s mission to engage youth in exploring careers in skilled trades and technologies. This position involves facilitating dynamic, hands-on learning experiences in classrooms, promoting career pathways, and building strong relationships with educators, students, and community partners.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A qualified Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience in youth engagement or skilled trades and technology.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with youth in educational or community settings.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check.

EDUCATIONAL & COMMUNICATION SKILLS

  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts in an engaging and age-appropriate manner.
  • Experience with classroom management and student engagement strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate presentations and workshops for students in Grades 6–12 across Saskatchewan.
  • Facilitate hands-on activities that simulate real-world applications of skilled trades and technologies.
  • Promote awareness of apprenticeship pathways, post-secondary options, and career opportunities in trades and tech.
  • Coordinate with schools to schedule visits and tailor content to curriculum and student needs.
  • Represent Skills Canada Saskatchewan at career fairs, competitions, and community outreach events.
  • Assist in planning, promoting, and delivering key Skills Canada Saskatchewan events throughout the fiscal year.
  • Maintain, transport, and set up educational materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from students and educators to improve programming.
  • Support the development of new educational content, including digital and print resources.
  • Collaborate with other educators and staff to align programming with provincial and national initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
