Are you passionate about travel and helping others create unforgettable experiences? The Travel Shop is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic individual to join our Bondi Beach team. As an in-store travel consultant, you’ll have the opportunity to share your love for the East Coast of Australia and work in a fun, fast-paced environment while building itineraries and selling exciting tours and activities to holidaymakers.
You’ll be based solely in our newly-opened Bondi Beach store, where you’ll be responsible for in-store sales, as well as handling online inquiries and sales. Your role will involve customer service, product knowledge, and sales for tours across the East Coast, working with both walk-in customers and online clients. You’ll also engage in touting, attracting potential customers by showcasing our tours and contributing to the retention of existing clients through follow-ups and ongoing relationships. This is a new Sydney-based branch of the travel shop, so innovation, enthusiasm and creativity will be really valued in the role.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • A passion for travel and in-depth knowledge of East Coast destinations
  • Excellent communication skills to confidently sell and discuss tours and travel plans
  • Experience with customer service and sales
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate bookings
  • A dynamic and vibrant personality - we’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a team and has a flair for interacting with customers
  • Experience with online sales is a bonus!
    As a travel consultant, you’ll work closely with customers, helping them build itineraries, sell experiences, and design their dream getaways. You’ll also focus on customer retention, following up with past clients to encourage repeat bookings and referrals.
Responsibilities

AS AN IN-STORE TRAVEL CONSULTANT, YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE:

  • Providing exceptional customer service to clients both in-store and online
  • Monitoring and working the online chats
  • Selling tours and experiences for destinations along the East Coast, including Sydney, the Whitsundays, K’gari (Fraser Island), Cairns, and the Great Barrier Reef
  • Admin duties, including data entry, managing bookings, and responding to phone calls and emails
  • Touting and attracting potential clients to the store and online
  • Following up with past clients to encourage future bookings
  • Cash handling, opening and closing the store, and general retail operations
  • Restocking brochures, managing marketing materials, and keeping the store organized
  • Outreach to new affiliate partners
