We are looking for a motivated Scientist with expertise in in vivo oncology research to join our team in Gaithersburg, MD, USA. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to all aspects of in vivo pharmacology support, helping to establish assay systems and deliver impactful datasets for drug discovery. Accountabilities: In this laboratory-based role within Oncology Research, you will design, conduct, and analyze experiments to evaluate the function of our antibody drug conjugate (ADC) drugs and explore their mechanisms of action. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and project leaders to ensure timely data generation and dissemination, contributing to scientific publication goals. Your strong background in laboratory-based science will keep you informed about relevant scientific literature in tumor biology, pharmacology, and cancer preclinical models. Your passion for the field will drive your success. Essential Skills/Experience: A PhD with at least two years or a BS/MS with at least five years of relevant research experience in biology, pharmacology, or a related scientific discipline is required. Significant hands-on experience developing and working with complex in vivo models, such as xenograft, patient derived xenograft (PDX), syngeneic and orthotopic mouse models. Experience executing in vivo pharmacology studies in mouse tumor models, including dose-finding tolerability studies, PK/PD and efficacy studies. Adept at various routes of dosing administration, such as intravenous (IV), intraperitoneal (IP), and oral gavage (PO). Ability to work independently, critically analyze and report data, and interpret experimental findings within the broader landscape of drug discovery. Experience in preparing pharmacology project packages for internal milestone transitions and IND filings which exemplify a clear communication style. In-depth knowledge of ADCs and oncology disease area biology (solid tumors). Ability to act as an external ambassador and to influence external organizations to enhance the image and reputation of AstraZeneca. Highly developed problem solving and risk management skills, and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal, collaborative and team building skills. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles).
